A Rural Stay
For guests who want more than a tasting and a drive back to Porto, the family can welcome a small number of overnight visitors into the main house each year. For a private group of 4 people, the main house can be made available on an exclusive-use basis.
The rhythm of life at Quinta do Fôjo is the rhythm of the estate itself - early mornings, slow afternoons, the changing light across the vineyard, the stillness of evenings on a hillside in the Douro.
Two double bedrooms are available, each with its own private bathroom. The rooms are part of the main house - a traditional granite-built quinta whose construction provides cool, naturally ventilated spaces through most of the year, with air conditioning available for the warmest days and mosquito nets and fans on hand if preferred. In the way of traditional quintas across the Douro, the bathrooms are private but not en-suite.
A continental breakfast is served each morning, drawn from home-made products and small local producers - the kind of breakfast that reflects where you have woken up rather than where you might be anywhere in the world. Throughout your stay, we are happy to suggest places to visit nearby. The estate's pool is open to guests through the warmer months - a quiet way to end an afternoon under the Douro sun.
